From all of us at the Garden of Eden Flower Shop, we hope all of you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day surrounded by those you love. Now, we are sure that you have been gifted flowers galore—a sweet, traditional symbol of love and affection—but what do you do with them, and what is the best way to display them in your home? Well, join us today, as we go over some tips for picking out the perfect vase for your flowers to make sure they stand out in any room! When it comes to picking out vases, one of the first things that you need to consider is the size of the vase. More often than not, many people opt for a larger vase in the hopes that it will allow the flowers to spread out to create a cool effect. However, this cannot be further from the truth—a small vase is the best way to make any arrangement pop out, as it brings out the best in the flowers, creating a look akin to a bridal arrangement. By cutting the stems of your flowers evenly (on a diagonal, of course) and grouping them close together (either by tying them or using a small vase) you can create a really cool effect that is sure to wow people. Another thing to consider with vases is the color. Many people out there opt for a clear vase, while an opaque vase may do a better job. The benefit of having an opaque vase is that the stems are not visible, leaving only the beautiful blooms at the surface. Now, you may ask what color is best. To answer, try to find a very neutral color, like gray or beige. In the end, it doesn’t matter in the color of the vase, but in making sure that the vase has the ability to make the flowers stand out to their fullest extent. Finally, try to pay attention to the shape of the vase. In most scenarios, an hourglass-shaped vase works best, as it accents the flowers. Sure, square vases provide a much more modern feel (which can be great for some) but the advantage of having an hourglass vase is the fact that the flowers will be closer grouped, leaving you with a much more “wow” factor on your guests when they walk in the door. At the end of the day, there is no “right” way to display your flowers—it is simply up to you on how you think they look best. However, we promise that if you follow these simple tips, you can magnify the beauty of your Valentine’s flowers tenfold.
