Tip of the Week: Soil Tests

Hey there all of you Garden of Eden fans out there and welcome to our latest edition of “Tip of the Week,” where we provide all of you some tips and tricks to keep your indoor flowers and outdoor gardens looking spectacular all the year through! Join us today, as we give you a tip for why getting a soil test of your garden can be a great investment! So, Garden of Eden fans, quick question for you: would you buy a car without test-driving it first?  Or better yet, would you buy a home without doing a walkthrough beforehand?  Believe it or not, gardening isn’t that much different, as it pays off to get a soil test before the new crop comes up so you know what to expect. Cheap and fairly painless, soil tests done right before the first frost are an excellent way to plan out how you can improve your garden come winter.  For example, if the data from the test shows that you are lacking an optimal level of organic matter, you’ll know that you need to add some more mulch or compost come the spring.  While not completely necessary (you don’t NEED to drive a car before you buy it), soil tests make perfect sense for those who are semi-serious about gardening, and all it takes is one afternoon to do it.  Just a few hours, and you’ll have all the information you need to hit the ground running come spring! For more easy gardening tips and tricks, be sure to check back next week for our latest edition of Tip of the Week! Enjoy your Monday!
