Tip of the Week: Perfect Placement

Hey there all of you Garden of Eden fans out there and welcome to our latest edition of “Tip of the Week,” where we provide all of you some tips and tricks to keep your indoor flowers and outdoor gardens looking spectacular all the year through! Join us today, as we give you some tips for where to place your potted plants indoors!

When the cold comes to pass, it is often recommended bringing your plants inside so that they can live out the winter comfortably.  However, when you do, be sure to place them in right spots throughout the house so that they will be stronger than ever when it is finally time to bring them back outside. As a general tip, keep your potted plants in a well-lit or a sunny room for at least 5 hours out of the day.

In addition, moisture control can be the difference between a happy plant and a not-happy plant, so make sure that you are checking up on it regularly.  For example, if you feel as though a room is dry, we guarantee that your plant feels the same, so it may be worthwhile to move it somewhere else or to invest in a humidifier.  In addition, watering schedule is important—do not over-water your plants.

Stick your finger an inch into the soil, and if it is moist, do not water it.  Often, over-watering is the bane of the houseplant, so make sure you avoid that this winter so you still have a plant to put out in the spring.
