Tip of the Week: Easy Weeding

Hey there all of you Garden of Eden fans out there and welcome to our latest edition of “Tip of the Week,” where we provide all of you some tips and tricks to keep your indoor flowers and outdoor gardens looking spectacular all the year through! This week, we're helping you get rid of the weeds, in an easy and environmentally-friendly way! Often, when weeds pop up in your garden, it's a struggle to pull them all up at once, especially if there is a lot to be pulled.  If the manual labor of pulling each individual weed doesn't fancy you, and if you're against using a commercial weed-killer spray on your garden, then there's a environmentally-friendly shortcut that you should consider. Take a few cardboard boxes, and take them all apart so they can lay flat.  Place the cardboard over the weeds, and then pile on a few inches of mulch on top.  The cardboard will block out any and all sunlight to the weeds, effectively killing them all, while decomposing naturally into the soil.  In just a few weeks, you'll be weed-free without any of the back-breaking labor, and ready to plant again! For more gardening tips, check out the "Happenings" tab on our website, and make sure you check back every Monday for a new Tip of the Week!
