Tip of the Week: DIY Greenhouses
Share
Hey there all of you Garden of Eden fans out there and welcome to our latest edition of “Tip of the Week,” where we provide all of you some tips and tricks to keep your indoor flowers and outdoor gardens looking spectacular all the year through! This week, we're telling you how you can create your very own greenhouse out of a common household product. Gardening in the colder months is tough, but a lot of the stress can be alleviated with a DIY greenhouse to help keep your plants from the frost and high winds. While a standard greenhouse takes up a lot of room and is extremely effective, we've deduced a simpler solution for the average gardener. Take an empty 2-liter bottle, and cut the bottom quarter off of it. Slide the newly-cut bottle on top of the plant you wish to protect (with the cap-end at the top) and you've just made your very own greenhouse. The plastic will help to keep in heat and help water condensate on the side, giving your plant the climate it deserves in these cold months. The best part about this tip is that the materials are so readily available, giving you the ability to create as many greenhouses as you need, with almost no time commitment.
