Garden of Eden Flower Shop Tip of the Week: How to protect your garden from a storm

Hey there all of you Garden of Eden fans and welcome to our latest "Tip of the Week"! This week, with the potential of a heavy tropical storm threatening our greater area for the weekend, we thought we'd share with you a few tips on how to protect your home garden from heavy wind and rain damage. Tips on How to Protect Your Garden from a Storm:
  • Create a wind barrier - If you have a fence, we suggest attaching plastic to it and poke holes through it so it doesn't blow out.
  • Use the bucket brigade - If you have no fence, you have the option of placing buckets over plants in your garden. You will want to then place a brick or other heavy object on the bucket to keep it held down.
  • When in doubt, pull the tarp out - You can cover and low-growing plants with a tarp. Just make sure it is staked down securely in the ground.
We advise you to take these tips to heart sooner rather than later. We don't anyone to put themselves in harm's way. The Garden of Eden team wishes everyone in our area a safe weekend.
