Garden of Eden Flower Shop Tip of the Week: Beating the Heat

It's the start of a brand-new week Garden of Eden fans - which means it's time for our newest "Tip of the Week"! As we have now entered August and are in the thick of the summer heat and humidity, we thought it would be appropriate to focus on minding the heat and how it pertains to floral arrangements:

Beating the heat - If you have cut flowers delivered to you arranged in a vase, they most likely won't stand up to the heat very well. Thought it's out of your personal control how flowers are delivered to you, you can certainly take steps to take the best care of them once they arrive. One of the best ways to do this is to display them away from the sunlight, as well as away from air conditioning vents. In terms of humidity, moisture in the air will keep your fresh cut flowers remaining fresher for a longer period of time.

Try placing the vase in a tray of water to keep the moisture high when displaying them. We invite you to check back in with the Garden if Eden team next week for our next "Tip of the Week"!
