Stemming from the time of Ancient Greece, the yarrow flower is a very popular for fall wedding arrangements thanks to its bright blossoms and sweet smell.  However, it is not the appearance alone that makes it perfect for a wedding flower—the meaning says it all. Typically, the yarrow represents well-being, healing, and inspiration.  In addition, when used in the context of a wedding arrangement, the yarrow symbolizes great joy, and bringing a sense of illumination into life itself. All of these meanings come from an Ancient Greek myth, where they believed that the yarrow first came about when a shaving from the spear of Achilles hit the ground.  On the other side of the world, the Chinese believe that the yarrow is a flower of wisdom, and first sprouted around the grave of Confucius. Regardless of the origin, the yarrow is a beautiful flower that works well as a gift to someone whom you care about, or as a great way to brighten up a room. No matter how you want to use this flower, stop into any of our locations today to sample our collection of fresh flowers, and to see what our amazing florists can do for you! Have a great weekend!
