Feature Flower Friday: Tulips

Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our new Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be feature a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone else. Join us this week, as we cover the tulip flower! Tulips are a cup-shaped flower that seem to blossom whenever they can get some sunlight, which turns them into an absolutely beautiful flower.  Originating in Asia during the 16th century, this flower really took off in the gardening world when they were brought to the Netherlands in the 17th century, where the people couldn’t get enough of the flower.  Even today, tulips are a major export of the country, and their massive tulips fields entices envy in any gardener.  Despite all of this, the tulip has several different meanings to it, making it a perfect flower to give for every occasion. Overall, the tulips stands for undying love, royalty, prosperity, and love between family.  In short, this flower is perfect for conveying your love to your partner or your family, but the specific color of the tulip can slightly alter the meaning.  For example, yellow means unrequited love, whereas red is the color of passion and love—go figure.  In addition, purple is the traditional color of royalty, and pink is more of an affectionate love, which make it great for friends. No matter what you plan to use the tulip for, know that the Garden of Eden Flower Shop is your one stop for everything floral, chocolate, and in-between.  Stop on in today to see what we have in store for you! Have a great weekend, Garden of Eden fans!
