Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We'd like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be feature a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone else. Today, we're talking all about the Aster. Enjoy: The Aster flower, with the beauty of a wildflower and luxurious texture, has a long history of being widely known as an enchanted flower. So enchanted, in fact, that legend has it that the scent from a burning aster could ward off evil serpents. In more modern times, such as today, one would present the aster flower to express love and patience. Its name is actually derived from the Greek word meaning 'star'. Asters can be found in a wide array of colors as well, such as blue, lavender, pink or purple. This official flower of the month of September can also be presented in honor of a 20th wedding anniversary.
