Feature Flower Friday: Star of Bethlehem

Feature Flower Friday: Star of Bethlehem

Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone This week, we’re covering the Star of Bethlehem.  Enjoy! The Star of Bethlehem, or a white lily, as it is commonly referred to, is a type of wild flower from the Mediterranean.  This star-shaped flower has been closely associated with the Bible and the New Testament (hence the name) and has several implications in religious ceremonies.  However, besides their religious use, the Star of Bethlehem is a great flower to give someone, mainly because of the refreshing qualities it is known to reflect. White lilies are known to symbolize innocence, purity, honesty, hope, and forgiveness.  This is a type of catch-all for most white flowers, but the Star of Bethlehem especially draws a connection with purity, due to its connection to the Bible.  That being said, the Star of Bethlehem is a very popular wedding flower, but is also great for anniversaries, birthdays, and just-because bouquets! To have a few of these insanely beautiful flowers placed in your next order from us, just ask--we would be more than happy to accommodate your request.  No matter what you plan to use them for, white lilies are just a perfect flower to have around! Have a great weekend, Garden of Eden fans!
