Feature Flower Friday: Peonies

Feature Flower Friday: Peonies

Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone.

This week, we’re covering the peony flower.  Enjoy! Peony flowers have thick bloom to them, and also have quite a thick symbolism associated with them as well.  With implications branching back for thousands of years, the peony has major cultural implications in some lands, while being loathed in others.

Nonetheless, they still have a great deal of symbolism attached. Generally, the peony represents honor, success, romance, and shame.  A flower such as this that has polarizing traits should be given with a card, as to specify your meaning.  The last thing you want is to give the wrong impression to who you are gifting the flower to. The color of the peony can change or compound the message behind it.  A pink peony is commonly associated with romantic love, while a white peony is often the one representing shame.  Red, on the other hand, symbolizes honor, and it is revered most highly in China and Japan.

No matter what your reason is behind the peony, we guarantee that it will look fantastic in your next order from us.  Simply specific that you would like a few peonies, and we will happily oblige. Enjoy your weekend, Garden of Eden fans!
