In a general sense, the carnation is a symbol of love, fascination, distinction, and devotion. This flower sends of a very sweet vibe to those whom you gift it to, and a message that is sure to leave a mark. However, the color of the carnation itself can greatly alter the meaning. For that special one in your life, go with a deep red carnation, as it symbolized deep love and a strong sense of admiration. On the other hand, stay away from yellow or striped carnations this Valentine’s Day, as they represent disappointment and regret, respectively.
