Feature Flower Friday: Carnations
Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We'd like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone. Today, we're talking all about the Carnation. Enjoy! Did you know that the carnation is actually the birth flower of January? Yes! This flower also comes in a variety of different colors - each one conveying a different meaning. For instance, red means 'I love you', while white carnations represent pure love. If you receive a yellow carnation it can mean disappointment or rejection. Additionally, the carnation is one of the oldest cultivated flowers in the world - dating back to the ancient Romans and Greeks! Throughout history, the carnation is remained ever-popular, which speak to its vast appeal!
