Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our new Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be feature a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone else. Join us this week as we cover the calla lily! The calla lily—also known as the arum lily—is a trumpet-shaped flower hailing from South America. This flamboyant flower comes in varying hues, and as expected, comes with many symbolisms attached. In general, the calla lily symbolizes rebirth, faith, and purity. In addition, this flower also represents youth, overwhelming beauty, and the ability to overcome challenges. This being said, the calla lily makes for a great flower to give to someone who is strong and persevering, or someone whom you totally admire for their beauty and ambition. Now, the color of the flower can fine-tune the message that the calla lily is trying to convey. A yellow or orange flower represents joy and growth, whereas a dark purple is for strength. Blue means grace, and pink is generally seen as a flirt. As always, the red gives off an aura of passion and intensity. The calla lily is a great flower to give to that special someone in your life, or even to a friend who has really been on top of their game lately.
