Feature Flower Friday: Begonias

Feature Flower Friday: Begonias

Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone. This week, we’re covering the begonia flower. Enjoy! The begonia flower is one that has had an awkward mystery, and one that has several different meanings attached to it. Its name derives from a French politician in power in the Caribbean, as a friendly botanist decided to name his newest discovery after him (which is essentially believed to be a repaid favor). However, despite its weird name, begonias are interesting because they have some less-than-positives meanings attached to them. For example a begonia can mean anything from individuality and peace, to a warning about the future and unpleasant thoughts. So, with this flower, the context in which it is given is extremely important. Not only that, but the specific color of the begonia can impact the meaning it has. Despite its generally onimus symbolism, a red or pink begonia is a symbol of romance and love. Yellow or gold stand for wealth and happiness, whereas a white one corresponds to pure innocence. Finally, blue and purple can mean artistry, creativity, or passion. As with many flowers out in the world, the context in which they are given has a direct impact on their meaning. However, no matter what context you plant to use them it, begonias make for an excellent addition to your salad or your room. To have a few of these sweet-tasting and awesome-looking flowers placed in your next arrangement from us, give us a call and we would be more than happy to oblige. Enjoy your weekend, Garden of Eden fans![fusion_builder_container hundred_percent="yes" overflow="visible"][fusion_builder_row][/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
