Feature Flower Friday: Anemone

Feature Flower Friday: Anemone

Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone This week, we’re covering the Anemone.  Enjoy! The anemone, a cup shape flower of all sorts of shades, is a flower that comes with multiple mythical meanings attached to it.  Stemming from the Greek word for "windflower", the anemone borrows a few meanings from the legends of Greek mythology. According to legend, the anemone is said to bring luck and protect against evil, as is the flower sprung from Aphrodite's tears.  In addition, the anemone commonly represents a forgotten love, anticipation for the future, and protection against illness, making them the perfect "get-well" flower. Not only that, but popular culture states that whenever a anemone closes up its petals, rain is approaching.  While the jury is still out on this one, we think it's a pretty cool attribute of a flower, nonetheless! Anemones are great in a bouquet for someone who is looking forward to something, and for wishing luck.  Another great spot to put them is in a vase in your home, for all to see and smell. No matter what you plan to use an anemone for, just know that we are here to meet your needs!  Simply state that you would like an anemone in your next order from us, and we would be more than happy to oblige. Have a great weekend, Garden of Eden fans!
