Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our new Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be feature a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone else. Join us this week, as we cover the amaryllis! Ah amaryllis, the star-shaped red beauty that has been the love of floral affectionados for quite a while. While this flower is by all means pretty, and a symbol of the coming holidays, it is the meaning where we can find the true beauty in it. Overall, this flower represents life, love, and happiness, which captures the essence of the holiday season. During the Victorian Era, the amaryllis was used to convey to a woman that she was strong, self-confident, and strikingly beautiful, which a red amaryllis continues to say today. Should you opt for a white or yellow, one, you are changing the meaning to one of purity and happiness, respectively.
