Feature Flower Friday: Amaryllis

Feature Flower Friday: Amaryllis

Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone This week, we’re covering the Amaryllis.  Enjoy! The amaryllis is a fall wedding flower yielding spectacular blooms in the late fall.  This elegant flower hails from the tropics in the Caribbean and South Africa, but now they can be found all over the world.  Like it, the symbolism of an amaryllis is extremely deep, and you can find a reason to give one to everybody! As a whole, the amaryllis represents pride and self-esteem, notably because of it's prominent bloom.  However, for men, an amaryllis can symbolize a strong, independent, self-confident, and beautiful women (arguably one of the best flowers you can give a date). Not only that, but a deeper meaning of the amaryllis can be found in the specific color of the flower.  For example, a purple amaryllis symbolizes the spirit, while orange is good health and happiness.  As with most flowers, red stands for passion and love (which couples in nicely with the aforementioned description of the amaryllis for women) and white is purity and innocence.  Pink is for friendship, while yellow is for happiness, luck, and good times ahead. While the amaryllis may be a great flower to give someone, as it symbolizes a lot of great characteristics, an amaryllis would look great in your home as well.  Whether you're ordering for someone or just yourself, we have you covered.  Simply asked for some amaryllises to be included in your next order. Enjoy your Friday and the weekend, Garden of Eden fans!
