Feature Flower Friday: Alstroemerias
Share
Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone This week, we’re covering the alstromeria flower. Enjoy! A flower by many names, the alstromeria flower, or the Lily of the Incas, or the Peruvian Lily, is a flirtatious bloom that comes in a wide array of colors, hues, and of course, meanings. This beautiful, tropical flower can be a great substitute instead of roses or tulips, and comes with just enough meanings to make it stand out from the rest. The Peruvian lily, as a whole, means a devotion to someone, friendship, withstanding the trials of life, following dreams, and finding potential romantic connections. More often than not, though, the lily will be used to symbolize friendships, as the flowers twist from the stem, much like the twist and turns of friendship. Like every other flower in the book, however, the Lily of the Incas can have a specific meaning based off of its color. Pink and red ones denotes affection towards a friend, while yellow, white, and blue can express your concern to a loved one who is not feeling their best. Orange shows a desire to chase dreams, and reach for the highest ambitions. Adding in the Peruvian Lily to your arsenal of flowers gives you massive flexibility in the message you want to give. Now, while you plan to use them to send a message or just to brighten up a room is entirely up to you, having them placed in your next arrangement from us is easy as pie. Simply request a few alstromerias, and we would be more than happy to oblige. Enjoy your well-deserved weekend, Garden of Eden fans!
