Feature Flower Friday: Snapdragons

Feature Flower Friday: Snapdragons

Hi there all of you Garden of Eden Flower Shop (and chocolates and gifts) fans! We’d like to welcome you all to our latest Feature Flower Friday! Each week, we will be featuring a different type of flower, the meaning behind them and the reasons you would give or present them to someone This week, we’re talking about the Snapdragon.  Enjoy! Snapdragons are a unique flower, with only 40 different species of its kind.  They can generally be found growing in rocky or rough soil, which gives them the symbolism of strength.  The beauty of the flower juxtaposed to the conditions in which it grows in makes it a perfect representation of grace and strength, or clarity in the face of adversity. Like all other flowers, the color of the flower can fine-tune the message of what the flower holds.  A purple snapdragon ties with spirituality, and the grace in finding one's self.  Red, like all other flowers, goes for love and passion, but white symbolizes pure grace. For a special someone, sending them a snapdragon will tell them that you appreciate their inner-strength, and that you believe that they can overcome adversity, no matter the circumstances. Snapdragons can fit perfectly into any arrangement, even a patriotic one (as the symbolism of the snapdragon parallels with the course of the American Revolution).  To add a few snapdragons to your next arrangement, just tell the florist you speak with, and we'll whip you up something just for you. Enjoy your weekend, and from all of us at Garden of Eden Flower Shop, we wish you and your family a very happy Memorial Day!
