Tip of the Week: A “Moo” Way to Fertilize

Hey there all of you Garden of Eden fans out there and welcome to our latest edition of “Tip of the Week,” where we provide all of you some tips and tricks to keep your indoor flowers and outdoor gardens looking spectacular all the year through! Join us this week, as we give you a tip on how milk can be your next environmentally-friendly fertilizer. Milk—the cornerstone of civilization, and the best companion for your coffee. However, did you know that it can also be used as a great fertilizer? It can, and here’s the best way to use it! The proteins and bacteria in milk can aid greatly in plant growth, but it is paramount that you apply just the right amount at the right time, or else you may risk stunting your plant’s growth. For best results, take milk that is past-date (but never milk that is spoiled) and mix half of it with water and put into a spray bottle. Then, spray over the leaves and let the plant do its thing! After applying, try to stay clear of using pesticides or weed killer in the area for a few days, since this can kill the main component of the milk—bacteria! For best results, apply weekly, or whenever you have milk in the house that is going to go bad. Using milk as a fertilizer is a great way to recycle, and an awesome way help your garden out in the long run!
